May 16 2022 - Hello! I know it has been a while since I last blogged, but things have been crazy. I have started to sell t-shirts! I am so glad that things are kicking off, and thanks to many supporters this website is out there! We have practically every color as an option, and we have many different vinyl options, from marble, to sparkle, to neon, and more. We can put these on in any combination. These shirts only cost $15, but they do take a while to get in, so I do ask you to be patient. I also want to remind you that none of these profits go to me personally. All of the profits go to Saltwater Savers, which will eventually help us to donate, advertise and more. I thank you for all of your help getting us here. Dec. 22 2021- Hi everyone! I just wanted to remind you of my GoFundMe once again. This fundraiser is going to adding custom t-shirts to this website. My goal is $500, this would allow me to sell t-shirts. Eventually I would like to sell many different types of merchandise, but first I will start small. None of the funds will ever go to a personal account, it will always go to advertising, merchandise, and donations. If you decide to donate, it would be extremely appreciated. Dec. 16 2021 - Hi! I just wanted to say thank you to my generous donors! Thanks to them I have $80 in my funds! I hope more of you will decide to donate, but I appreciate you even coming to this website. Because it is so new, every person who visits makes a difference to the website, and every person who visits will hopefully make a difference in the world. I again encourage you to be conscious of how much waste you use and how often you use it, because every little bit counts. Materials, especially plastic, will take a very long time to degrade, but not without harming something along the way, and it is never really gone, the damage has been done, and the chemicals released. It is alarming how long it takes for these things to "disappear". Scientists estimate that cigarette butts will take 5 years to decompose, plastic bags 20 years, plastic lined cups 30 years, plastic straws 200 years, soda can rings 400 years, plastic bottles 450 years, toothbrushes 500 years, disposable diapers 500 years, Styrofoam 500 years, and fishing line a whopping 600 years 36. Now, I am not saying that this is 100% going to happen no matter what, but this is the estimated time, and even the first plastic ever made is still here on earth. There are so many little things that you can do everyday to help. I, personally, try very hard to reduce this just by telling waiters and waitresses that I don't need a straw, or by bringing a reusable bag, or, if I only have a few things, carrying out what I have in my hands. Nov. 26 2021 - Happy Black Friday! As the holiday rush begins, it is the perfect time to buy and use those reusable bags. When toys, clothes, and other presents are bought, so many more plastic bags are used. You can make that much of a difference just by reusing bags, or by choosing paper instead. Nov. 9 2021 - Hey! Happy November! I don't know about you, but I love this month! I just want to remind everyone that this website is constantly changing, so please check back every so often. You may not realize that this happens, but it is good to be aware. During Halloween, an estimated 2,000 tons of plastic waste is generated during the season 35. Now, I am not saying that you should never participate in Halloween ever again, and never eat candy wrapped in plastic, but again I just feel it is good to be aware of this. Thanks, Abigail
